Before the movers arrive
Moving day flies by faster than you think. If you're estimating how much time you need for final tasks, double it!
- The "Final Night" Bag: Set aside a suitcase or bin for the essentials you'll need tonight and tomorrow morning (chargers, toiletries, medications, and a fresh change of clothes). Keep this with you, not on the truck.
- Clear the Path: Move any small personal items, rugs, or breakables away from hallways and doorways to give our team clear access.
- The Fridge & Pantry: If you haven't already, clear out perishables. A cooler is a great way to transport the items you want to keep. Give the inside of your fridge and stove a quick wipe-down.
- Final Sweep: Do a lap through every room — don't forget the attic, basement, and storage lockers. Check for hidden items in closets or behind doors.
- Utilities & Logistics: Ensure you have cash or a digital payment method ready if you plan to tip your crew. Have your phone charged and your ringer volume up so we can coordinate with you easily.

- The Inventory Walkthrough: We will walk through the plan together once we arrive. Review the inventory list with your team and make sure everyone is on the same page before the first box is lifted.

Once we reach your new home, the finish line is in sight!
- Facilitate Entry: Call ahead to make sure building management or site contacts are ready for the truck's arrival.
- Check the Essentials: Before the bulk of the unpacking begins, ensure your electricity, water, and Wi-Fi are up and running.
- Prioritize Bedrooms: We recommend setting up the beds first. Moving is exhausting; having a comfortable place to crash at the end of the day makes all the difference.
- Wipe Down Surfaces: A quick clean of the kitchen and bathroom surfaces allows you to start using those spaces immediately.
Take a breath and order some takeout
You've done it! Take a breath, put your feet up, and order some takeout.
- Celebrate: You made it to the new place. Enjoy that first night in your new home.
- Sort the Boxes: When you're ready to unpack, tackle the kitchen and bathroom first.
- Review Your Address: Once you've settled in, double-check that your address change has been processed with the post office, your bank, and any subscriptions.
